New Muslims & Reverts

Whoever you are, wherever you've come from — welcome

If you're exploring Islam or have recently embraced it, Warragul Mosque is a safe, warm, judgement-free place to land. We know the road. We'll walk it with you.

You're not starting from zero

Maybe you grew up Christian, Hindu, agnostic, or atheist. Maybe your family is Muslim but you're coming back after a long absence. Maybe you just read a Qur'an in English and something clicked.

Whatever brought you here, you're not the first — and you won't be the last. There's a long history of reverts in Gippsland and Australia, and we've sat with many of them. Their questions are often the same as yours.

Our philosophy is simple: no judgement, no pressure, no shortcuts. You become Muslim when you are ready, not when anyone else is ready for you.

Prefer to come in person? Jumu'ah is every Friday at 1:30 PM — you can just show up.

The first few steps

How it usually goes

  1. 1. Come to Friday prayer

Jumu'ah at 1:30 PM every Friday. You don't have to do or say anything — just sit and listen.

  2. 2. Have a cup of tea with us

Tell us a bit about you. We'll answer your questions honestly, whether you're sure or still figuring it out.

  3. 3. Take the shahada (if you're ready)

When you're ready, the shahada takes 30 seconds. We mark the moment with witnesses and a welcome dua.

  4. 4. Learn at your own pace

A mentor walks with you through salah, wudu, fasting, and the essentials. No tests. No pressure.

  5. 5. Be welcomed into a family

You're not alone. Halaqahs, community dinners, and friendships — this becomes home.
