Volunteer

Your hands are welcome here

Warragul Mosque runs on volunteers — unpaid, sincere, and generous with their time. If you can give even an hour a month, there is something meaningful for you to do.

Where you can help

Roles we always need

Teach a class

Kids' Qur'an, youth halaqah, Arabic, adult tafsir. We train and pair you up — no need to be a scholar, just sincere.

Cook for community dinners

Monthly community dinner, Ramadan iftars, Eid catering. Team cooks together, so no one does it alone.

Event crew

Set-up, pack-down, parking marshal, welcomers — the real MVPs behind every big day at the mosque.

Grounds & maintenance

Mowing, painting, gardening, handyman jobs. Fortnightly working bees with morning tea.

Website & IT

If you can code, do design, shoot video, run a newsletter, or manage socials — we need you.

Youth mentor

Pair with a young person in the community. WWCC + safeguarding training provided.

New Muslim mentor

Walk with a revert through their first months — salah, fasting, and finding their feet.

Interfaith representative

Represent BINAI at local schools, council events, and church gatherings. Speaking training provided.

Committee roles

President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, and specialist leads — elected annually. Open to all financial members.

Our commitment to you

  • Clear role, clear hours — we won't burn you out.
  • Training and WWCC where required — we cover the cost.
  • Safeguarding, conflict-of-interest, and complaints policies you can read.
  • Volunteers are acknowledged publicly at the AGM and on the website (with consent).
  • An honest line of feedback — you can walk away at any time, no hard feelings.

Register your interest

We'll reach out within a week with what fits your availability and skills.

Can't volunteer right now?

Monthly donations let us hire specialist help when we need to — like a cleaner during Ramadan or a WWCC-trained youth worker.
